Hello

I have Audacity version 1.3.11.

Can I record directly in Audacity playing my midi keyboard? And how would I do that if I can?

Thanks

Qualified yes. The MIDI part is irrelevant. You record from any keyboard by adapting the Headphone Out or the Line-Out to the Line-In of your Mac. Music does not go down the MIDI cable.

The Mac connector is two black arrows with a thin circle. That's exactly how I made this short clip...

You get killed if you're using the keyboard as a controller and the music is actually being created by the Mac. Macs will not record themselves.

Let me know.

Kos, thanks for the reply.

I'm not sure I understand you.

Let me explain

I use Logic Express and have no problem recording with my midi controller, which is just a controller...not sounds in it.
I also use Sibelius 6 and can record in that program too with my midi controller.
So, all I actually want to do is just get a piano sound and not necessirily record in Audacity. I could do this by just doing it in Sibelius or logic, but Audacity is so easy to open even though I don't use it to often.

So, with my midi controller can't I just use the sounds in my Mac, I believe it's Quicktime, and do it in Audacity?
I hope I explained it clearly.
Thanks.

<<<recording with my midi controller>>>

You'll need to get a lot more detail into this. The last time I used a MIDI system, it was made out of rocks and branches and ran from natural gas.

Is this a program running on your computer, or a separate physical device? Apple always has fancy-pants names for these things. Is this Glitch Sequencer? Cake Walk? Give me a push.

Pretend I'm trying to buy what you have.
