speaker/microphone feedback on G-4
I have been recording on an Apple G-4 for a while...I now have this strange issue. I use the audio in line setting and plug a digital booster between my turntable and the computer. Now I am getting loud high-pitched feedback from my speakers. It is as though I have a microphone too close to the amplifier. It is happening all of the time even when I am not using Audacity. When the computer starts up I hear a short "bleep" as the computer starts up...is this caused by audacity or a setting when getting it going? I have found nothing on the forum or FAQ that addresses this. Has anyone heard of this happening and is there a fix?

Before we dig, we should find out which computer you have. Apple put a G4 processor in a number of machines. 12" PowerBook? That's where my G4 is.

Oh, and the Digital Booster. Does it have a name or model number?
