Hi hope everyone had a wicked Christmas and looking forward to what 2008 is going to bring.

I'm having a problem in Audacity, I'm opening up loops and when i press play it doesn't play it comes
up with the message:

Error:
Error while opening sound device. Please check the output device settings and the project sample rate.

I'm using an
Edirol - FA-66
with a MAC OS X 10.4

No idea why I'm not getting any sound from this program yet I got no problem in Logic??

Your Mac is probably set to play back through the Edirol and not the built-in speakers or the Headphone/Line-Out. If you open up the Mac preferences and set the default output to one of those two, I bet the messages go away.

We are all hoping Audacity 1.4.x gets here soon as 1.2.x has trouble with USB devices. The forum is swamped with messages like, "My xxx USB device won't work with Audacity..."

If you continue to have troubles like this, download and use 1.3.x. They will both live on your machine with no trouble.
