I have Audacity 1.2.6. I have MacOS 10.4.11. I downloaded the LameLib with the sits extension and expanded it with Stuffit Expander. I used Preferences and File Formats in Audacity to locate the library and successfully located the MP3 Library Version LAME 3.91.

However, in the Audacity File Menu all export options are greyed out. The only options not greyed out are: New, open, close, save project as, and recent items. The following are all greyed out: export as WAV, export selection as WAV, export as MP3, export selection as MP3, export as Ogg Vorbis, export selection as Ogg Vorbis, export labels, export multiple, page set-up, print. No metadata window appears when I click or press 'enter'.

What should I do now?

Those menu items will be greyed out when there is nothing in the project to export, or if you are playing or recording.
