After importing a file from itunes ,when I play the song it just makes a clicking noise it seems to be playing the song at a very fast rate literally a split second
I have sort of resolved this by converting files to MP3 format from the itunes AAC M4a format..... is there a simpler way to do this
Thanks

Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Nope. You've found the solution. Audacity cannot open or import AAC M4a format files.roscoe wrote: I have sort of resolved this by converting files to MP3 format from the itunes AAC M4a format..... is there a simpler way to do this

Re: file playing problem
Broadening the scope of the question a bit. Why are you doing this? If your purpose is to do production, sound manipulation and editing, then MP3 is the last thing you want. Convert to WAV, do the production and then convert back down. WAV files do not degenerate during editing, unlike the other compressed formats.
If all you want is something that will play on your off-brand music player, then go for it. MP3 is for you.
