OK. That works. Now, when opened after exporting (I'm using aiff file format), Audacity also allows editing. Didn't do that after recording.
Again, much thanks for your troubles. Though, that would be greatly lessened if the CD that came with my GemSound unit, presumably direct from Audacity, weren't blank - and the Soap CD to boot. And, a printed user's manual. Documentation from these products is sorely lacking. Guess you must be used to it by now.
Have a great day!
Audacity 1.2.6 won't record

Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Re: Audacity 1.2.6 won't record
OK. that solved it. Exporting (I'm using aiff file format) also allows editing upon re-opening - not an enabled function as recorded.
Thanks so much for all your troubles. Though, Audacity and GemSound could save you a lot of time helping people online if they included some user manuals. Also, the CDs from Audacity and Soap were blank - as were the others boxes' hen I went back to the store to see about getting replacements.
