Does it still play movies and Music CDs?

Visit your local Office Supply store and get a small stack of Sony CD-R blanks.

Put one of those in and see if the machine can mount it. It should give you a "what should I do?" dialog that you can OK. If it continues to click, you have a broken CD drive.

I do not Mac at my PC installed.So I do not know whether CD burns or not. But you can go to the Nero website. you can get the complete information about the burning the cd in mac.
