Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Installing Lamelib

Post by 117165 » Tue Aug 25, 2009 5:59 am

I have read the guides but I'm still stuck. I download and unpacked Lame Library v3.98.2 and got the file libmp3lame.dylib and tried to going into audacity and locating it for the mp3 exporter but it gives me a notice that it was expecting a library and this file was not reading as one. Is the file supposed to be a document? Or am I doing something wrong?

Probably using Audcity 1.2. Do you have a Mac/Intel/Leopard?

We don't often get a clean sweep any more. Audacity 1.2.6 will not run right on an Intel Mac and Audacity 1.2.5 will not run right under Leopard OS-X 10.5.

So rip out Audacity and don't forget the Mystery Preference File...

Trash Mac Audacity Preferences

And then install Audacity 1.3.7.

If you're really the adventurous sort, you can try the regular download Audacity 1.3.8 or the Nightly Build of 1.3.8.
