Smoothness of cursor

Hi All,

I have just moved from an IBM ThinkPad to a MacBook, primarily for use with Audacity. One thing that I've noticed with the Mac is that on replay, as I am trying to edit out the pops and clicks, the cursor seems to jump a good distance. The PC's cursor movement was much smoother, making the exact position of the offending pop much easier to pin down. I suspect that there might be some adjustment that I could make, but i don't know its name or where to look for it.

Thanks in advance for any help rendered,
Jerry

I suppose the first thing we should address is that if you're Mac/Intel/Leopard (a new Mac) you have the wrong Audacity. The upgrade from Tiger to Leopard (10.4 to 10.5) pretty much killed off Audacity 1.2.5 for us. If you are running Audacity 1.2.6, I wouldn't expect anything to work right, that's never been a good combination.

So go find 1.3.8 for the Mac and install that.

You don't need to take 1.2 off if you don't want to. They will co-exist. Just don't try to run both at once.

Mouse sensitivity can be adjusted in Apple (up left) > System Preferences > Hardware > Keyboard and Mouse. There's another operator in the shop that likes a really tight mouse. Caress the mouse gently and it goes six feet to the left. I don't know how he edits like that, but it makes me nuthouse. I have to keep resetting it.

You can post back with Mac questions like that. I run both types of computer and I can not damage myself or others in Linux.
