Dear Friends;
I realise that there is probably an incredibly obvious solution to the following problem, but please keep your judgments to yourself. Thank you.

Furthermore, allow me to preface this by saying that I have already followed the instructions given in the OS-X specific issues part of the wiki. So, yes, I am a Mac user, but I am unable to record any kind of sound, as all my attempts produce is a flat line. Any help you are able to provide will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely;
Bruce S.

<<<I am unable to record any kind of sound>>>

If you've been following the forums, you know how much we love open ended questions like that.

"I'm trying to record [internet audio] on my [Mac G5, OS-X 10.4.11]."

Replace the brackets with the real you. Apple > About This Mac. You can't give us too much detail.

Dear Friends;
I am unable to record from the internet, from my iTunes, etc., on my Mac Mini, which runs OSX 10.5.7.

Excellent.

While Macs have a world-class Line-In connection -- I regularly use mine to capture live voice segments for Motion Pictures -- but they will not record their own speaker or headphone sound.

You can force one to do that, but it takes extra hardware or software. I have used the simple jumper cable and I have licenses for WireTap...
