Can't Export Multiple tracks

I was able to successfully record an album today for the first time using Audacity v1.3.7. My set up: Ion TTUSB10 turntable connected to iBookG4 OSX 10.4.11, connected with USB cable. I began by choosing File>New in Audacity. I placed the needle on the album, started turntable and selected "record" on Audacity control panel. At the end of side one, I chose " pause", then started the second side and chose " pause" again to complete recording the audio file.I clicked on end to finish the project. I then saved the project as JT. I then chose control-B to label each of the songs. After this was complete, I chose File>Export Multiple. A screen opened that I chose Wav as format and Audacity 1.3.7 folder in Applications as export location, labels was highlighted, Using label/Track Name was also selected.Overwrite existing files was checked. When I clicked Export, the Metadata Editor appeared and I entered Album Name, Artist, genre and year for each song ( although only side 1 songs appeared). When I attempted to export, the metadata editor screen kept appearing, always only showing side 1 songs. I was never able to export the album with labels and songs separated. I did export the album as a single file to iTunes in AIFF format, but cannot separate songs so it is a large continuous play music file.
What did I do wrong and how can I correct for the future? Also is there a faster way to label songs without scrolling through the entire music file?
Thank You
John
