Error 2: No Such File or Directory

Post by iampwnftw » Wed Jun 03, 2009 1:10 am

Hi

I was taking two versions of a song, one clean with a chorus and one explicit without. I edited the chorus in quite nicely and attempted to save it and got this message: can't crate file '/a valid extension where I chose to save the file. Any ideas?

Thanks

A filename should have upper and lower case characters, numbers, underscore and dash. That's it.

Any other characters can cause OS-X to do funny things. In general, you should create folders and directories ahead of time and not depend on filename manipulation to get you there.

Another variation is Audacity's insistence on Saving Projects and not sound files. Audacity will not Save a sound file and Projects have very specific file extensions.

Export to get an actual sound file and you can call that anything you want, but you are cautioned that having the file type and the filename extension not match can invoke magic in some surprising places..
