Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Post by cropea » Sun May 17, 2009 7:54 pm

Hi mac users, I'am new here and first of all my best regards to all forum-users
my english is not complete. I'am sorry for that and I hope you can help me, because in german- forum are only readers and no helpers.
My problem: I worked with my powerBookPro 10.4.? and audacity 1.2.5 very well and had no problems. Now I changed to 10.5.6 and can recording directly from tape-deck, cd-player and so on, it's very sinewy. But I can't get a high level, when I do my recording from aux and it's the same from my mixing console, which is going to my pre-amplifier. The preferences from audacity and in the system preferences I choosed build- in line in. After reading in audacity-forum I turned to audacity 1.3.7, but I got no success. With the intern micriophone- in it's everything ok. Anywhere is a little mistake- please help in easy english. Have a view to my screenshot and

thanks for all

<<<and no helpers.>>>

We are elves here. I have to wear a tall pointed hat when I type. At Christmas and Holidays, I wear the hat with the bell on top.

1.2 Audacity does not run OK on Mac/Leopard/Intel.

Delete both programs.
Don't forget the audacity.cfg file...

/Users/Koz/Library/Application Support/audacity/audacity.cfg

...and resintall Audacity 1.3.7. Maybe from fresh download. You know you have a clean, undamaged install when it asks you "English" at first birthday. It is necessary that it do that.

Let us know if you still have sound problems.

Hallo kozikowski,

I am very thankfull for your fast reply, but the last days I didn't had enough time to experiment with audacity software.

And yes, I believe in you: you are elves.

I did all what you wrote, again and again, but no success. So I did a test with sound studio 3 and there is the same propblem.

Now I am thinking, it's time for an IT- wonderman or do you have enother pieces of advice? I am very hopefull!

best regards

There have been some amusing things happening with Leopard. There was one poster who couldn't get a FireWire soundcard working no matter what.

Still can't.

Just to cover all the bases, you did get rid of Audacity 1.2, right? That has known issues with Leopard/Intel
