Automator Actions for Audacity

Is there enough community interest to give Audacity the ability to used with OS X Automator for scripting some of its functionality? I would find it useful to script Audacity (with Automator) to process several audio files and have it amplify them and re-save. I think having Audacity's audio processing features available as Automator Actions would be very beneficial. Any comments on this? Thanks!

I haven't actually requested this yet, but this is a cousin to my desire that Audacity have a timer function. Record anything on the Line In connecton between 1pm and 2pm.

I've never used Automator.

I agree that automator actions or applescript would be very helpful. I would like to use it to speed up podcasts. I could download several, then batch process them to have changed tempo and pitch followed by resave. I can think of other applications for batch processing with Audacity.

Please, please, please add this functionality to Audacity!!!!

I just found chains in Audacity beta! That does what I want.

Timed recording will be in 1.3.4 (all platforms) as well.

Hello,
I am trying to make an automator action to use with SwitchXS for my nephew that has cerebral palsy. My goal is to make it possible for my nephew to record his voice and then send the audio file by email to someone.
I want to do that with automator actions. For that, I would need to have an action or script for start recording audio with Audacity, and another one to stop it and save it automatically.
I don't know how to this actions or scripts alone, can someone help me with that?

Audacity does not have built-in support for AppleScripting or Automator actions. You can however write or record shortcuts to control Audacity using QuicKeys.
