I would like to record pdf using their computer voices with audacity and convert files to mp3 to listen to on my ipod Is this possible

PDF files are uased for our course books and can be read by Microsoft SAM etc online but I prefer to record to mp3 and walk and learn

This should work if your hardware supports recording from "Stereo Mix":
