Sorry for such a basic question. I use Audacity to record a streaming program on my home computer running WinXP with no problems. I am presently traveling with my wife's laptop running Vista. I am unable to record and am sure there is some setting which is incorrect. However, I can't find the problem. When I try to record what is streaming on the Internet, I get essentially a flat line. When I play it back, with the volume turned way up, I get what sounds like faint static. Thanks for any advice someone can offer.
