hello im stuck!
AUDACITY.EXE HAS STOPPED WORKING"
this is all that happens when i try to load the program, it worked originally but in a different language. so i uninstalled and re loaded but ended up here.
PLEASE COULD SOMBODY GIVE ME POINTERS TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.
IM USING WINDOWS VISTA ON A PC
It runs on my laptop, but it doesnt have a sound card so i cant do what i want to do!!

Although you may thinks you have de-installed Audacit, itw will howver leave behind your set Preferences. In 1.2 the Preferences are held in the Windows Registry - in 1.3 a file is created called audacity.cfg to store the preferences. You can clean the registry of the audacity entries if you are confident in the black arts of registry management.
If all you need to do is change the language setting back to English, then:
1) To change the language use: Edit>Preferences - Edit is the second command in from top left, then Preferences is the bottom selection in the drop-down list.
2) Then you need the Interface tab, which is the third one in from the right.
3) Language is selected from the only drop-down list in the dialogue box - use this to change to English.
My advice to you would be to try installing the beta version 1.3.7 - you can have both 1.2 and 1.3 installed on your PC but you can't run them both at the same time. 1.2 projects can be opende in 1.3 - but not the other way around. Don't be put off by the "unstable" labelling of the Beta - in fact 1.3.7 is pretty mature and stable and the next releases are edging towards being a Release Candidate for 1.4. I only use 1.3 all the time now.
