volume lowers by itself
If I play or sing a note longer than about 2 seconds, the volume of the recording and playback slides down to about 1/4 of the original volume even tho' the source volume remains the same. Anyone else have this problem? I use a Toshiba Satellite and this happens whether I use the internal mic or an external mic. Can anyone suggest what might be the fix?

Re: volume lowers by itself
Many PCs have automatic volume control on their sound channels. PCs are assumed to be used to make telephone calls, not theatrical performances. Automatic volume control can be good on a phone call.
Somewhere in one of your sound control panels there should be a clicky or selection you can turn off.
Try a forum search "automatic volume" or some combination.
