Hello,
I would like to use USB input to Audacity to bypass my laptops sound card, but I haven't been able to get Audacity to recognize the USB input. I am using a Behringer UCA202. I have a tape player with line-out RCA plugs running to the UCA202 and then the UCA202 USB plugs into the laptap.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Isaac

Re: can't get usb input to work
Windows (and therefore Audacity) should just recognize the USB device when you just plug it in.
You are using a direct USB input and not a USB hub, right?
TRy unplugging the USB plug and re-plugging, or just wiggle it gently. Try a different USB port on your PC. Try plugging and then re-booting. Try replugging after re-booting.
Stevethefiddle who is a very frequent poster to these pages uses a UCA202 (albeit under Linux) so he may have som more informed insights into this particular device and its quirks.

Re: can't get usb input to work
My USB device was eventually recognized by Audacity, though I'm not sure exactly what triggered the recognition. I think it was something simple like you suggested, such as plugging and then re-booting. If I figure it out, I'll post to the forum.
Thanks.
