I'm attempting to make Audacity 1.2.6 recordings through a microphone.
With the mic volume control turned way up, it records at extremely low volume.
Sigma Tel Audio
Audio Technics ATR20 Mic
Windows XP Service Pack 2
Dell C531 Computer with 3GB Ram
Searching HELP and experimenting with controls has not solved the problem.
Can anyone tell me what I may be doing wrong, and a possible remedy? Thank you much.

We could do with a few more numbers like this:
"I'm using a Sennheiser a23-6 microphone on my HP Windows Vista Home machine with a SoundBlaster Sound Card and Auadcity 1.2.6."
