saved files as WAV - problem - Please help.

Dear Sir / Madam,
I wonder if you can help - I am really desperate to solve this one, as the audio files I have saved are very very very valuable to me.
I made 3 recording using audacity. Each was 25 mins in length. I saved and exported as a WAV file to my desktop. I know I did not save to export WAV selection as I know this only saves a selected part.
When I have played them back, each recording stops after 45 secs, 2 mins and 4 mins.
What has gone wrong? I m happy to pay for your advice to allow me to salvage this problem.
Thank you

My guess is nobody has any idea what's wrong. I don't. Let's fish.
<<<save to export WAV selection >>>
We warn people to get the words right because they're different in Audacity. Audacity Saves Projects which are an internal management system, but Exports to WAV and MP3 sound files. Audacity doesn't Save sound files.
<<<I made 3 recording using audacity. >>>
That means very different things to different people. Were you singing or speaking in front of a microphone? Where did the show come from?

So let's go back to some basics:
1) You say you made 3 x 25 minute recordings. Did you test by playing them in Audacity, after recording, that they played ok and lasted the full 25 minutes?
2) You say you Saved the Audacity Projects. Do you still have them - and idf so when you re-open them do they play for the full 35 minutes.
3) You say you have Exported each project to a WAV file (which is too short in duration when you play them). If you open a new Audacity project and inport one of these WAV files in - what duration is Audacity showing - and does it play properly? Repeat for the other two WAV files.
Once we have a bit of test data from you we may be able to offer some insights.

The problem is much worse than that. It's not just that one cannot Export anything from Audacity as a .WAV file on Windows--the problem is: the menu item for it does not even exist in Windows!
If you read the Audacity Manual, it continually makes reference to the "Export As Wav Menu Item". There IS NO SUCH MENU ITEM on the WINDOWS version of AUdacity available from SourceForge. It simply is not built into the application.
It is not that the Menu Item is grayed-out or broken. It is Not There in Windows.
The reason the Audacity Developers are totally unaware of this is that they do all their development, testing, troubleshooting with the Linux version. They never bother with the Windows version, which the majority of users are working with. So never having used it, they haven't discovered this omission.
If you google "can't export as WAV in Audacity" , you'll find millions of users asking why they cant, and zero answers from the Audacity team on the discussion boards. They Audacity Developers only reply with requests for clarification--none have ever been able to answer it, nor are they aware of the prob.

.
Actually this is far from the truth: the development team is not all that big - BUT they do develop
and test on all three majaor platforms Linux, MAC OS-X and Windows (including XP/Vista/W7 variants). Also the Forum elves who answer the majority of queries on this forum use all three major platforms between them.

Well Iv'e been happily exporting to WAV from Audacity (1.2.x and 1.3.x) on a couple of Windows XP (HE annd PRO) for quite a while now.
In 1.2 you get:
File>Export as WAV (This is the menu item that you are complaining does not exist! In the online 1.2 manual the
Export as WAV is documented as a sub-menu item of the
File menu)
and
File>Export Multiple - the latter gives you an export dialog popup wth a selector box which says
Export Format use the drop-down to select
WAV
In 1.3 it is different:
File>Export gives you an export dialog popup wth a selector box which says
Save as Type - and
File>Export Multiple gives you an export dialog popup with a selector box which says
Export Format. In both cases use the drop-down to select
WAV (Microsoft) signed 16 bit PCM

Can I ask which version of the manual you are reading - and where the erroneous page is.
AFAIK the manual under development for the next release 1.4/2.0 (covers the existing Beta 1.3.9) is correct for the revised interface.

Thanks for your input phlogiston08,
I think waxcylinder has covered all the points you raised.
Here is the current Audacity manual:
