Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Crashes after recording

Post by tbboy13 » Tue Apr 14, 2009 6:09 am

I'm running Audacity 1.2.6 on Vista, and if I record longer than 45 seconds, it crashes after I hit the stop button.

Any idea why this might be happening?

I'm recording with the microphone built into my laptop.

Try using Audacity 1.3.7
If you still have the problem, start a new post on the "Audacity 1.3.x > Windows" board and give more information - LOTS more information. (paint us a mental picture of your set-up)

I' ve just started having the same problem using vista 64. We're capturing audio out of the sound board via cable with no problem until last week. Captures fine, hit the stop button and it closes down in error.

You've got a problem (what else can I say?)
Same advice as before - try Audacity 1.3.7 and if you still have a problem, LOTS more information.
I'm not saying that you should post error log files, but come on, you're not giving us much to go on.

Short of posting error or crash logs, it would be good to know model numbers and names and the method you used to connect your sound system.

You can't give us too much detail about your system.
