MP3 export - audacity adds silence
When I export something in Audacity as a .mp3, it adds approximately 0.25 seconds of silence in front. How do I get Audacity to NOT do that since I want the sound to start IMMEDIATELY playing when opened.

You can't. It's one of the limitations of the MP3 format. ALL MP3s do it.DigiMish wrote:When I export something in Audacity as a .mp3, it adds approximately 0.25 seconds of silence in front. How do I get Audacity to NOT do that
Could you use Ogg format? The sound quality and compression are about the same as MP3 (possibly better sound quality) and it does not add silence to the beginning. Unfortunately Ogg format is less widely supported (which is a shame because it is better than MP3 and does not have the license restrictions that MP3 has).

Really? That's very peculiar...
Anyways, the sounds are for a game, so I think I'll take the .ogg format for its small size since Fmod(sound library I'm using for my game) supports it.
Thanks a lot stevethefiddle.
