Telephone FIlter

I want to take a Audacity recording and apply a Telephone filter to it so it sounds like it is a voice mail. Does anyone know how I can accomplish this? I found a Telephone plugin but it is not showing up under my effects when I added it to the Plugins folder.

Is it an Audacity plug-in? (where did you get it from / what is the file name?)

I didn't know anybody made a packaged filter.

You can get a pretty convincing effect by applying the graphic equalizer and drop everything below 300 and above 3000. If that's too complicated, High Pass Filter at 300 and Low Pass Filter at 3000.

You can get a little crunchy distortion in there with the Leveler tool in Audacity 1.3.

Audacity 1.3 has a lot better effects tools than 1.2 does and the stability is a lot better than you think.

You can have 1.2 and 1.3 on your machine safely as long as you only launch one at a time. 1.2 Projects open up anywhere, 1.3 Projects only open up in 1.3
