Tascam dp01fx and wav files

Hi! I am recordimg with a tascam dp01fx. I save my files as wav. Will audacity allow me to enhance these files (volume, eg effects etc??) Kind of new at this and just looking for a little info. Thanks to all

Audacity does not "save" audio files - it creates and saves "projects".
Audacity projects do not play in anything other than Audacity.

To get a standard, playable audio file out of Audacity you must "Export" (File menu).

Yes, Audacity does all manner of editing and processing, not just on single files either, you can also use Audacity to mix multiple files/tracks, for voice overs, podcasts, multi-track recordings.....

I would recommend Audacity 1.3.7 as it is far more up to date than the rather old 1.2.6 version.
