mic input levels

Post by dontcallmebitterman » Thu Mar 26, 2009 7:10 am

i've been using audacity to record my voice, but suddenly it seems to record at a very low volume. the levels on the track meter have only slight variations instead of major waves. i use a laptop with a built-in mic. is it damaged or has this happened to anyone else? thanks,

Assuming you didn't drop peanut butter or cat hairs into the microphone hole, you can change the volume in the Windows Control Panel and you can also try increasing it using Audacity input level control near the microphone symbol.
