Hello,
I had Audacity recording something for 7 hours during the day. It was working and recording, I checked before I left. Unfortunately, just as I got home, the builders working in my house tripped the electricity, which cut the power on my PC. The sound file wasn't saved. I have read around and managed to use the Audacity Recovery Utility to take all the small files and merge them into one sound recording. Unfortunately, when I play the file, there is no sound in it. All I get is a hissing noise. Like I said, it was definitely recording the sound so I cant understand why it's not there. Is there anything I can do?
Thanks,
Gareth

Enough people put their project into the mud that the developers had to come up with much better tools than were available historically. The latest recovery suite is reputed to work quite well.

Re: Recovering files
I used the program suggested on that page - But the finished file contains no sound.
