editing iTunes
This is the first time I have ever tried to do this so, please bear with me. I am trying to create a slide show using Picasa and I want to use parts of songs to correspond with specific pictures in this slideshow. I was told I could do with this iTunes, but have recently been told this is not possible. Can I use iTunes for this or is there another program out there? Also, can I edit certain parts of songs or must I use the whole song?

Re: editing iTunes
If you bought iTunes songs, then yes, they come with all sorts of oddball compression and copy protection.
However.
The iTunes music license (I bet you didn't know you had one of those) allows you to burn (I believe) five Music CDs with whatever you bought.
From there, it's a simple matter to rip the music from the physical Music CD in CDEX to a WAV file that will edit in Audacity. You can lift one note out of a three minute song if you want. Audacity lives for editing like this.

It sounds like I just may be getting over my head here, as I have never done anything like this, as if you couldn't tell! But - I think you have given me my answer, that what I want to do is possible so I just need to proceed - one baby step at a time. I thank you for your time and reply - you were MOST helpful!
