Is there a stereo mix recording time limit?

I was recording audio playing back on my computer, which was to be about 15 hours long. I set the audio to play and began recording in Audacity and everything was going along as normal, but when I went to check its status the next day, nothing was there. It was no longer recording and there was nothing for me to edit or view in the interface. I have recorded for 8 hours straight a few times and everything worked just fine. But I've tried twice now to go for this 15 hour length of time and the same thing has happened. I have about 100 GB of free space on my hard drive, so I know that hard drive capacity is not the problem. Can someone help me with this?

Thanks for all assistance

There is no limit in Audacity 1.3 - not sure about 1.2

Very long recordings require a rock solid stable computer, so even if there is nothing "wrong" you are not guaranteed trouble free recording of extremely long recording times.
Note also that the maximum file size for a WAV file is 4GB.

Really? I have a few WAV files on my computer right now that are nearly 5GBs long.

Interesting - they must be using the RF64, or W64 format (or something similar) rather than standard WAVs
