The crackling/popping noise in my recordings persists in Audacity. Here's everything I've tried:
- Microsoft Sound Recorder
- Audacity
- Cakewalk Sonar 4 LE
- 44.1 and 48 kHz
- Mono and stereo
- Lowering microphone's volume
- Plugging microphone into second USB port
- Switch Sound Converter and LAME Front-End
I'm stumped. The popping/crackling is heard only on MySpace, YouTube and Microsoft Sound Recorder but not Windows Media Player, QuickTime Player, Audacity, or Calkwalk Sonar 4 LE.

Tried another phone cord, downloading and uploading somebody else's audio, and a third-party music player. I'm about to bust a lamp!
