Jumping to the middle of an audio track

I just discovered and downloaded Audacity yesterday. I am using it for a single, very basic purpose. I am a guitarist, and I am using Audacity to change the pitch of certain songs so that I can burn them to CDs on my computer, and then play along with them without having to re-tune my guitar. I would like to say that it works very well.

However, I apologize, as I cannot seem to figure out how to do one thing that surely must be very basic. I'm sure that the answer is in the manual, and I must simply be looking right through it.

When listening to a song with Audacity, how do I skip forward and backward in the song? The intuitive thing to do would be to drag and release the little green arrow at the top of the time line, but that doesn't work. To be sure that my question is clearly stated, allow me to offer a hypothetical example: I want to hear a part of a song that is 1:30 into the song. I push the play button, and the song starts to play, but I don't know how to skip forward to 1:30. Right now, I just sit in front of the computer and wait for one and a half minutes until the song gets to the part that I want to hear.

Thank you to all who take the time to reply.

<<<how do I skip forward and backward in the song? >>>

Click anywhere in the blue sound waveform to select a place in the music. Press the spacebar to play and stop. Zoom in and out (magnifying glass icons with + or - in them).

<<<I am using Audacity to change the pitch >>>

Select a portion of the waveform by clicking and dragging, or the whole thing by clicking Edit, Select All. Then click Effect, Change Pitch. The work panel will give you key signatures and direction (B Flat Up to F).
