I have tried unsuccessfully to use Audacity 1.2.6 over a period of months. I am using Windows 2000 Pro SP1 (with rollover 1). I have downloaded from both CNet and SourceForge; zip file and exe file downloads. The downloads come off without a hitch, but when I try to start the program, this error message ALWAYS pops up: Program Error "audacity.exe has generate errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created." Ok
I have tried to uninstall, clear the registry, and reinstall Audacity, but it never opens after downloading.
Any ideas? I would sure like to try the program.
Thanks for helping.

Re: Audacity won't run after installation on Win2K
Sorry, I need to correct my first post; my operating system is Windows 2000 Pro SP4, rollover 1, not SP1.
