Using Audacity with Traktor 3 LE DJ Software

Hi,ive checked previous threads but there seems to be no answer.Basically im using a Behringer BCD3000 Midi controller with Traktor 3 LE DJ software.THe Audacity software came with a USB Turntable which is fine.Now Audacity will not work if the Traktor software is running.Ive been told its a soundcard problem,the soundcard will not allow two programs to use it at once. I believe i will need an external sound card but do not know which one to go for if this is the case. The error code that comes up when both programms are running is.......Error while opening sound device.Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate. The sample rate is the same on both Audacity and Traktor 3 @ 44100. Ive messed with input and output settings but it makes no difference. Audacity works straight away once Traktor is shut down which either says to me its the sound card or the two programs need synchronising somehow? Any help much appreciated.

Iv'e got the same problem as you describe there , did you get it running and how ???

You might not. Audacity is a very simple audio program and it likes running on very simple machines. A multi-channel, multi-program machine such as you describe is a killer.

You may try the latest Audacity 1.3.8 from the download web site. That one is much better able to handle layered sound pathways. You can install 1.2 and 1.3 as long as you don't try to run them at the same time.
