Continuous Album

Post by andymauldin » Sat Mar 07, 2009 7:10 pm

Hello, all you happy people. I have a question regarding a continuous album I just got finished burning onto my computer: Is there anyway for me to put individual tick marks, chapter marks, or track marks, whatever you want to call them, onto the whole song file so that I don't have to cut up the file and I can just press next to skip to another song but have the whole song file in one piece, not cut up? You know, just like chapters in a DVD movie. It's all one giant movie, but the next button brings one to the next scene. Also, if I do burn the song file in its entirety onto a CD-R and but into my DVD recorder that has the ability to such, would it work when the CD-R is closed after burning? Could I still put chapter marks?

Thanks a bunch, :)
Andy

Yes you should be able to, but whether you can or not is not down to Audacity - it depends on your particular CD burning software. Some of these, but not all, allow you to set a flag for a continuous album - otherwise thay normally add the 2 second gap that is prescribed in the Red Book standard for CDs.

Hmm... that's a good idea to try. What CD burning software would you suggest to use for such a venture? I have media player, but I don't think it can do such. Even if it could, is there a better program to use that I can download :?:

I use Varitas, Easy CD Creator, and Nero depending on which PC I'm using. The "free" versions of these packages tend to leave things out to get you to buy the larger package. Frequently, the ability to manage the 2-second gap vanishes.

Thank you, waxcylinder and kozikowski; that solved my problem! I now have Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon cut seamlessly onto my CD. Thanks again!!! :D
