Not working properly anymore

Post by Jeffry83 » Wed Feb 25, 2009 6:08 pm

I have been using Audacity for a year now,it always worked fine.I use it to record songs that i play on Windows Media Player with the DFX Audio Enhancer to get a better quality sound for video's i make, but since a few days the sound i record over the system sound like a old record or a song that is played over on the radio.Everything else works just fine,i can play mp3's/movies on my pc with no problem.I also noticed that my Input Volume in Audacity is stuck on 0,when i try to move it up it jumps back to zero. While just a few minutes ago it was not. Also my microphone is greyed out in the audio options of XP...I also checked if Direct X was causing any problems and reinstalled my Realtek HD audio drivers, also did not fix it.

i have pretty much the same problem.
It worked fine all the time and then once when i tryed to use it again there was no sound at all. I tryed to change settings and all but nothing worked. Everything seems to work properly except that I can't hear a thing. All other programs work well. And it does the same thing if i check the volume mixer, it draws it down to zero all the time, doens't matter if i change it. i've tryed to unistall it and re-install it again but it doesn't help.
I use windows vista and dell XPS m1330
if anyone knows how to fix that it would be big help.
