Dell Inspiron 6400 Multitrack Troubles

Post by BisonicMirth » Tue Feb 24, 2009 12:19 am

Hey, I hope someone can help.
I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 and I am struggling to get anything out of multi-track recording because the lag between my playing and when it is recorded is so huge - Even just playing one track and having the software play it back is too much of a lag. I have the Sigmatel audio device, so that may mean I'm just completely stuck, but if there's anything I can do to reduce the time lag I would be seriously grateful. I've read the FAQs over and over and can't find anything specific to this, but still I hope it's not a stupid question...thanks to anyone who can help! :)

In "Edit menu > Preferences > Audio I/O tab", the option for "software playthrough" should NOT be selected.
