Hello,

I'm rather new to Audacity and I was wondering how could I accomplish the effect mentioned in the title.
I have some recorded words I wish to emphesize. I tried to create a longer patern by duplicating certain sound waves but that just created a stutter.

Any help would be appreciated.

You may not be able to get there from here to revisit a very old New England joke. When you say the word "So," your inflection could put a swing on the word so there is a "Uh" sound at the end, not an "Oo" that you can extend. I would be looking at other places in the dialog where the speaker did give you a good "ooo" sound and cut and paste that.

As you get into this, you will find that you need to magnify right down to the the individual waveforms at the cut point to avoid clicks and pops at each edit. You can do that regeneratively. Slide two together and then use that to make four, etc. You need to clip individual samples off and slide until there is no abrupt change or spike at the cut point. You should not be able to see you did anything.

This will also be a nightmare if you have DC on your sound signal. You can make sure you don't with the DC Removal tools in the Normalize Effect.
