recording from a cassette player

Post by vicmcdonald » Mon Feb 09, 2009 3:44 pm

I have a Sharp micro hifi with two auxiliary (red and white) jack sockets. My laptop is an HP Pavilion which doesnt have a line in jack but does have a Microhone in jack.

The windows default audio properties are Soundmax digital audio for input and mic input.

I have connected to hifi to the laptop as above (Auxiliary jacks to the mic in) and can hear the cassette thorough one attached speaker. Pressing the red record button shows no wave pattern and there is patently no recording. I have tried with the speaker detached, there is still no wave pattern and no recording...Help please!

Open the Soundmax Control panel (probably an icon near the clock) and set the recording settings in there.
