Mute Removal

I Imported a track and apparently had muted a portion of it before import. Can I remove the mute in the main track? Like a dumy I deleted the original track from which I Imported
Audacity Projects refer back to the original sound files, and that's if you opened up the Project. If you're opening an exported WAV or MP3 file, you're pretty much dead.
