not able to record different sound

Post by mbowman8 » Thu Jan 29, 2009 6:02 am

hey i just got a maudio keystudio 49i hooked up via usb to my laptop and want to record the different sounds that is in the gm module library so that i don't just have a piano but also many different sounds i can record with, but when i try audacity still records the piano sound instead of an organ or guitar sound. is there a way i'd be able to not only switch the sound that comes out of the speakers but also what sound is recorded by audacity?

<<<Play the on-board piano as a stand-alone instrument-then plug the USB cable into your computer to play a total of 128 sounds and listen to them from the keyboard's audio outputs.>>>

That seems to suggest that you only get the mix at the speakers of the keyboard, not down the USB cable. The computer runs the MIDI software, but the show comes out of the keyboard itself.

<<<The included Ableton Live Lite software>>>

Doesn't that work? That's the software package that's supposed to record and mix your work.
