newbie effects for LP

Am a newbie so be gentle with me. In the past I have strugggled with Audacity and I ended up paying for software to digitize my LP`S however I ran in to problems and eventually gave up my LP project. A few years later and alot older and wiser I thought what the hell lets try again and I downloaded Audacity and I must say that being older and wiser and more patient paid off and I understand how to get it working and I think this is awsome software. I want to improve the quality of my LP recording I understand click removal and noise in the effects menu but is there any other effects that will improve the quality.Is there a quide on the effects and on how to use them I have googled for a guide but not found one that helps for my LP project.

I use Audacity for most of my LP transcription recording and repair - but for click removal I bought Brian Davies's excellent ClickRepair software - it works like magic and it saves me a lot of time (wll worth the money IMHO).
