Cant choose recording way

I cant choose what way to record, like mic/imput, etc that box is just blank.. any help will be nice

There are two places where you set the recording device. Audacity...

Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O > Recording

...and the Windows Control Panel...

i still cant record directly off the pc...
