No sound

hello there. i just downloaded audacity, recorded 3 tracks then all of a sudden the sound stopped working on my notebook, now no sound works on anything.
anybody help?

Dig in the Windows Control Panels and see if the right things are selected and turned up.

All of a sudden like right after you plugged in your USB device? That's the usual culprit. Some Windows installs configure your sound capture for a new USB device (so far so good) and then mistakenly configure the outgoing sound to go to the same place, thus killing your playback sound.
