Hey Audacity,

Could you please give me the command line so I can bind effects utility Time line changer Reverse to a key other than, Ctrl+r

I what to use more than one function under effects and I have to keep clicking with the mouse, which makes it somewhat an inconvenience, do you have the code to bind GVerb as well, something else I tend to use a bit too,

Ctrl+R is the short-cut key combination for "Repeat last Effect".

It is not possible to bind keys to effects.

So why is it not possible, can you show me the codes of effects. What are the command names of Effects, they each have to have command names.

Or am I misunderstanding something here, how have you coded it.

I'm just a well seasoned user of Audacity, not a developer, so I can tell you much about what Audacity does, but not much about how it does it. I think they use some deep kind of magic.

I can see potential pitfalls with trying to support bindings to effects as they exist as plug-ins. Audacity supports plug-ins in various formats, and there are thousands of plug-ins available. Enabling key bindings to plug-ins would probably open up thousands of opportunities for users to break Audacity by passing invalid parameters to the plug-ins. As the plug-ins are mostly created by third parties, there is no way that Audacity could know what parameters are valid, and what are not.
