Audacity Forum

I am thinking of purchasing the audacity program to copy my vinyl albums to computer then to cd. Can someone please help me on a couple of issues. Firstly which software should i be looking at downloading. Is it avs audio recorder. Secondly i am unsure if my connection is correct to my computer. I run a turntable into a pre amp the pre amp runs into the cdr input on my amplifier. I then have run an av lead from my cdr audio out(rec) from my amplifier into my microphone jack on my computer. However it seems that the sound is not transfering to my computer. I have plugged headphones into my computer to see if any sound is there and have nothing. Have i connected this correctly. Do i have to buy a lead that converts from av to my blue input terminal on the back of my computer.

Do not download Audacity from there - it is an obsolete version. Always download from the official Audacity download location.
