What would cause static-like noise after about 30 seconds of recording? When I am not playing or singing, it stops so I can't sample it and use the noise removal tool. It only occurs while I'm playing or singing and is fairly consistent throughout the rest of the recording. I know I will have to upgrade the equipment I have eventually, but in the mean time, what could be causing this very annoying noise? Thanks.

Hi!
This may sound stupid but have you checked your recording equipment - you say its when recording music or vocal. I had the same problem or similar at least once and it was because my microphone created some lame noise that only was picked up by Audacity. Don't know why though...

Describe in detail with part numbers what's going on between your lips and the computer. Microphone? Mixer? Connection type?
