Pause in playing after track

I did it, but I don't know how. For some reason my otherwise good first effort pauses after the first track when I play the CD back on my computer. I have to click Track 2 on my player to get it to continue. It will then continue to play each track in succession to the end of the CD.
I don't remember doing anything different with the first or second track. How did I do it? More importantly, how can I fix the problem in the project?
Thanks,
Jerry

Is this an audio CD? Does it play on a CD player?

Yes, and yes. The audio CD plays just fine in any CD player except for the anomaly mentioned.

The problem is most likely with the CD. Either you have a long section of silence at the end of track 1, or there is a small defect on the CD that is making it difficult for the CD player to automatically move onto the next track.
Check the file that track 1 came from, and if that is OK, try burning another CD, preferably on a different brand of CDR.
(note that for compatibility you should not use rewritable CDs).

A reburning on another CD-R gave me the same results. I've evidently done something wrong on either the first track or the second. Any more ideas available?
Thanks in advance,
Jerry

Try ripping tracks one and two (C-Dex is a good, free CD ripper), then open the ripped tracks in Audacity. That will probably give you a good clue as to where the problem is.

Found the problem!
Somehow when I split the first track from the rest of the tracks, there was an open (but empty) segment left all the way to the end of the LP and beyond. I moved the cursor on track 1 to where track 2 started, selected "Cursor to end", and hit "Delete".Now everything burns and plays properly.
Thanks for your help,
Jerry
