Its a CD player/MP3 player, and it also has a jack for external input. So thats what I do, I plug in the output from my ipod into the input of my car stereo. And no matter whether I record in stereo or not, the audio I hear through the car speakers is always only on the right side.

But anyways, how would the car stereo know that it is a home made CD

Home recorded CD's are on CDR disks, which are not exactly the same as commercial "pressed" CDs. But that is not relevant if you are not playing a CD.

Are you sure that the plug/socket are OK?

I am going to check into that next, but I dont think that is it, because when I play home made CDs in the car stereo, the sound still comes out only on one side. Anyways, Im going to take the car to the dealer to get it checked out
