I purchased a USB turntable from ALDI some 2 weeks ago and it came with Audacity 1.2.6, which is brilliant, but far to complex for me having little knowledge of sound recording.
But I have downloaded an LP to CD successfully, but cannot get the tracks to seperate, so that I can simply number them consecutively, like a standard CD.
I have tried the WIKi Splitting records tutorial, but have not suceeded.
Could someone give me a step by step method of acheiving my tracking identification.
PS I am also trying to set up a very simple procedure for LP to CD conversion, as there were heaps of these Turntables sold at the time I did.

Or captured a vinyl performance? Downloading makes it sound like the turntable was in Kuala Lumpur.

Using the Audacity that came with the unit?

When you select or play to a place where you want a new song track to start, press Control-B. That will set a label. I don't even think you have to stop the playback, but I could be wrong there.

File > Export Multiple > Format: WAV > Export.

That will give you a pile of sequentially numbered WAV sound files which should dump into any CD authoring program. Remember where the label has to be to be at the front of cut one.

Unless. They're the wrong format WAV. Edit > Preferences > Quality should be set to 44100 KHz and 16-bit sampling. Audacity doesn't install that way, unfortunately. Those are the settings for a music CD.

I had downloaded Lp's earlier, using the Audacity 1.2.6 that came with the Turntable, but the instructions were vague, and the tutorials, rather complcated, considering the simple thing i wanted to do.
Indeed the secret was to press Ctrl + B at the start, and click in the sound track at the finish of each track.
You do not have to stop the turntable... just let it roll on.
I used Nero to transfer to CD, easy.
