Vocal Track Playback NOT IN TIME

Post by RemiJ » Fri Jan 02, 2009 3:38 am

Hi, alright so Audacity used to work perfect for me until suddenly the vocal track I would record over the instrumental track would start going faster and not in time. It's been like this for 2 years now and I've never been able to fix it unfortunatley. Does anyone know why it's speeding up?

Did it start doing this about the time you bought a new computer or sound card?

Try using a different sample rate (Edit > Preferences > Quality).
Some sound cards will play up with some sample rates - the recommended sample rates are 44100Hz and 48000Hz - try both.
If that does not help, it could be that your sound card has developed a fault. Another possibility is that an update to the drivers has caused a problem, so you could look to see if the driver can be rolled back to an earlier version.
